Response to the paper titled [graphene] Boron nitride substrates for high quality graphene electronics:
ReplyDeleteThe authors experimentally demonstrate that an appropriate substrate is need for graphene device to show suspend-like properties. Single crystal h-BN seems to be a potential candidate for the job, but single crystal h-BN wafer isn’t available yet. In reality, we need to see the performance of graphene device on polycrystalline or even nanocrystalline h-BN film.
Graphene heterostructure sounds good. Could we find other combinations? Superconductor-graphene, CNT-graphene, topological insulator-graphene.
Besides, the transfer technique they used may applicable to fabricate bilayer graphene with an insulating layer in between.
ReplyDeleteVery good comment Jack. We have got some single crystal BN of sufficient size to try these.
ReplyDeletegraphene-BN-graphene sandwich as you later commented is interesting too.
